Security is of the upmost importance to WMS and our clients.
Whilst this security warning does not affect accounting practices or WMS directly, we have been advised that fraudsters have gained access to one or more law practice email accounts. These fraudsters are emailing, or sending altered law practice emails, asking for funds or sending bills with altered account details for payment.
Many victims of these law practices have innocently paid large amounts into fraudulent bank accounts. The money paid to these fraudulent accounts is largely not recoverable from the fraudster.
Prior to making any EFT payments, please make sure you contact the issuer to confirm their bank account details. Please note our bank account details have not changed in many years.
