Aaron has more than 20 years’ experience in the accounting industry. After spending his initial years at Ernst & Young, Aaron became a founding member of WMS. With a strong focus in the property sector, Aaron acts for several property developers, retirement villages and major hotel operators owned by overseas investors. He also heads the WMS Corporate Finance Team, which holds an Australian Financial Service’s Licence (AFSL).
Aaron’s primary areas of expertise lie in property-related tax and GST issues, feasibility studies, acquisition due diligence and independent expert reports. He also acts as an independent director for several WMS clients.
A former branch Tax Liaison for the Urban Development Institute of Australia (Gold Coast-Tweed), Aaron regularly presents to the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ) on valuation and corporate topics. He has also lectured in Property Development Finance at Griffith University. In 2008, Aaron was awarded the State FINSIA Prize in Applied Valuation and Securities Taxation Law.
Outside WMS, Aaron is an avid AFL fan, Hawthorn supporter and handy player in his day. You can find him and his family at most Gold Coast Suns games. He also has an uncanny ability to recall lines from many TV shows and movies and is available for trivia nights.
