Stephen started in the accounting profession on his 18th birthday in 1987. Before joining WMS, he worked as a tax manager at Ernst & Young and managing principal at an ASX-listed accounting firm.
Stephen has a particular focus on capital gains tax, the taxation implication of trusts, tax consolidation and corporate tax. Through innovative structuring and detailed planning, he assists clients to legitimately reduce their overall tax burden. He is also a regular resource for other accounting professionals on tax matters.
Stephen is a regular speaker for various tax and accounting bodies throughout Australia. He delivered a paper at the 2009 National Convention for the Taxation Institute of Australia and addressed international tax conferences in 2010 and 2011. He is a senior tax trainer with the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
In addition to Master’s degrees in Taxation and Economics, Stephen completed a Juris Doctor degree at Bond University Law School in 2013, graduating with First Class Honours.
