We are excited and proud that our city is hosting the Commonwealth Games from Wednesday 4th April until Sunday 15th April 2018. The games themselves will bring athletes and supporters from over 70 nations, this will be the biggest event EVER to be held on the Gold Coast, however as exciting as this is we do need to be realistic and acknowledge that this major event will cause significant disruptions to Gold Coast Businesses.
At WMS we would like to take the “Business as Usual” approach however, due to road closures and expected traffic congestion during the Games, our staff will be impacted, therefore we have decided to allow our staff to have flexible working hours including the option to work from home during this time. As this is the biggest event the Gold Coast has ever hosted there is a great deal of uncertainty on exactly how WMS will be affected. One thing we know for certain is that, WMS will be open.
